Buchanan slides by Cassopolis for two wins

BUCHANAN - It was a sweep for the Buchanan varsity baseball team as it hosted Cassopolis Monday evening.
The Bucks took a 6-5 extra inning victory behind the arm of Mitchell Plott and Buddy Williams.
Williams came in for the relief in the fourth inning with Buchanan trailing 4-3 to pick up the win.
Dan Stanage was tagged with the loss giving up only three hits to the Bucks. Three errors proved costly for the Rangers.
Aaron Koziel picked up the game winning RBI with a single in the bottom of the eighth.
In the nightcap, Buchanan picked up a 7-4 win in six innings after the game was called because of darkness.
Koziel (2-0) picked up the win for the Bucks who improve to 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in Lakeland action.
Buddy Williams picked up the save coming in for Koziel in the fifth. Andre Broussard picked up the loss for the Rangers.
Buchanan was held to just two hits in the game, both by Zack Powers going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
The Rangers (1-6, 0-4) were led by Andre Broussard and Dan Stanage's 2-for-3 hitting as Cassopolis picked up seven hits.
