NILES - The Buchanan varsity baseball team held its annual Buck Classic Saturday, with Bronson, Eau Claire and Parchment in attendance.
The Bucks advanced to the championship game but fell to Parchment 7-2.
Buchanan defeated Eau Claire in the opening game 4-1 to advance to the finals.
Aaron Koziel was the winning pitcher for the Bucks, throwing five strike outs in four innings pitched. Buddy Williams and Jim Connors also pitched for Buchanan.
Koxiel was a top hitter at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Tim Mosier went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
In the second game, Bronson defeated Parchment 5-3, and Eau Claire 6-3 in the third game.
In the final game, Kody Pfost was the winning pitcher for Parchment. Mitchell Plott, Travis Reith and Brent Ruff all pitched for the Bucks.
Top hitters were Adam Doorlag and Danny Houser of Parchment.
Buchanan, now 1-1 on the season, will travel to Bloomingdale on Thursday for a 1 p.m. game.
