Niles High School looking to fill two coaching positions

NILES - Two Niles High School varsity coaches will not return to the court.
In a press release Tuesday, varsity basketball coach Denny Parks was given until Wednesday evening to resign as the Vikings head coach.
This was Parks' fifth season with the Niles basketball team. He ended with a 54-56 record and won two Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference West Division championships, the most recent this past season. He also won one district and regional title.
Jami Foster, the head volleyball coach, has resigned from her position.
In her nine years as head coach, Foster was named Coach of the Year in 2002, her team was named MHSAA Sportsmanship winners in 2002 and her squads received Team Academic All-State for seven straight years.
She has seen 11 tournament championships and ended with a 167-147 overall record.
Many pf her players continued their volleyball careers at the collegiate levels, 17 players made the All-Conference list and two players recevied All-Region honors.
Foster will contine her role as the varsity girls track coach and will continue teaching at the high school.
It was also announced that Niles will move from Class B to Class A.
