NILES - The indoor state championships were held Saturday March 18 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Niles Track was there.
Lead by junior sensation Kurt Poelhman, who finished as state runner-up in the high jump with a jump of 6'6. Also the 4 x 400 relay, which consisted of C.J. Rumpf, Luis Delnuro, Isaiah Glaze, and Nick Shuck came in ranked 10th and finished sixth to claim All State Honors. The lone women's qualifier was Nikki Horvath, who ran the 55 meter hurdles. She ran a personal best and just missed the finals. What really makes all these performances all the more impressive is the fact that indoor track has no divisions, so a school with 500 students will compete with a school of 2000 students.
