Seventh grade Black team wins again

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade Black volleyball team defeated St. Joe Upton Wednesday afternoon, 21-25, 27-25 and 15-12.
Top servers for Dowagiac were Rhonda Owens and Ashley McElheny.
The seventh grade Orange team lost to Upton, 22-25, 21-25 and 11-15.
Samantha Mathews and Breneesha Jones both had eight points for the Chieftains.
Victoria Robison finished with seven points, while Kaisha Martin and Miranda East both had six points. Dowagiac also got five points from Katelyn foster and four points each from Heather Leonard, Kiele Belew and ShaTesha White.
Abbi Gnatz and Jamie Ottinger both had two assists.
The eighth grade Orange team also was defeated by St. Joe Upton on Wednesday.
The Lady Bears won 25-14, 25-9 and 15-10.
Tiffany Tyus was the top server with seven points. Morgan Tanzillo added five points and Taylor Gross two points.
No results from the eight grade Black squad's match were available at press time.
The Orange and Black teams will compete in the Coloma Invitational on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
