Basketball districts begin March 6 for area schools

NILES - South Haven and Lakeshore will kick off the 2006 Class B District Basketball Tournament at St. Joseph High School on March 6.
The Rams and Lancers will play at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to Wednesday night's semifinal against Coloma, which received a first round bye.
St. Joseph and Niles will play in the second game of the tournament on March 7. The winner of that contest, which will also be played at 7 p.m., will advance to Thursday night's semifinal to face Dowagiac, which received a first round bye.
Wednesday and Thursday night's semifinal games will also tip-off at 7 p.m.
The championship game is set for Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m.
Class C at Centreville
Colon and White Pigeon will open up the Class C tournament at Centreville High School at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 6.
The winner will advance to the Wednesday night (March 8) semifinal contest against Constantine, which received a first round bye.
Tip-off is also at 7 p.m.
Cassopolis and Centreville will play on Tuesday, March 7 with the winner facing Marcellus in the Thursday (March 9) semifinal. Both of those games will begin at 7 p.m.
The title game, also set to start at 7 p.m., will be held on Saturday, March 11.
Class C at Bridgman
Brandywine and Bridgman will open up district play on Monday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. on the Bees' home court.
The winner will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, March 8 to face Watervliet, which drew a first round bye.
On Tuesday, March 7, River Valley and Berrien Springs will meet at 7:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to the semifinals against Buchanan, who also drew a first round bye.
The two final teams will play on Saturday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m.
