Vikes, Bucks honored by coaches association

NILES - Niles and Buchanan's girl's basketball teams were honored recently by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Publication for their performances this past season.
The Bucks were ranked No. 1 on the list for top 10 three-point fieldgoals, making 58 out of 148 attempted for 39.2 percent.
The Vikings came in sixth, making 81 out of 237 attempted for 34.2 percent.
Buchanan sophomore Emily Ross was the second leading three-point shooter, making 25 out of 56 attempted for 44.6 percent on the season.
Niles senior Brandie Radde was second in free throw shooting, making 51 out of 60 this season for 85 percent.
The Lady Vikes were also ranked third for free-throw shooting as a team, making 319 out of 470 attempted for 67.9 percent on the season.
Senior Sarah Dreher was named to the Academic All State list for her contiuous hard work in the classroom. Dreher had a 3.90 GPA.
