James A. Mitchem, 81, of East Corby Street, South Bend, Ind., died on Friday, Feb. 3, at 12:06 a.m. in Hospice House of St. Joseph County in South Bend, after an illness.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. at Connelly Funeral Home, in Cassopolis with the Rev. Christopher Pittman, of Peoples Protestant Church, in Cassopolis, officiating. Interment was at Prospect Hill Cemetery, in Cassopolis. Military graveside honors were conducted by members of Efton James American Legion Post No. 206 and William E. Lozier V.F.W. Post No. 10704, both of Cassopolis.
Arrangements were by Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis.
