DMS volleyball teams win two out of three

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade volleyball team defeated visiting South Haven on Wednesday.
The eighth grade Black team also defeated the Lady Rams, while the Orange team was defeated by South Haven.
Seventh grade volleyball
The Chieftains beat South Haven 20-25, 25-19 and 15-7.
Katelyn Foster led Dowagiac with 10 service points. Victoria Robison added nine points, while Breneesha Jones, Devon Ownby and Kiele Belew all finished with seven points.
Playing well defensively for the Chieftains were Samantha Mathews, Kaisha Martin and ShaTesha White.
Eighth grade volleyball
The Black team defeated the Lady Rams 25-19, 25-14 and 13-25.
Danielle Taylor led the Chieftains with nine points. Monica Roddy added six points, while Katie Hanebert and Haley Spencer both had five points.
Dowagiac also got three points from Jessica Miracle and two points from Allie Flewelling.
The Orange team fell to South Haven, 11-25, 20-25 and 6-25.
Tiffany Tyus had five points to led Dowagiac.
The eighth grade will travel to Niles to face Ring Lardner on Thursday, Feb. 23. The seventh grade will host the Lady Vikings.
Matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
The Dowagiac Middle School volleyball players will be recognized on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the final home varsity volleyball match.
