Bobcats fall to Coloma, 56-52, in overtime Friday

NILES - When Brandywine and Coloma met at the beginning of January, the Comets took a 58-29 win over the Bobcats.
On Friday night, Coloma saw a completely different basketball team.
Despite a 56-52 loss in overtime, Brandywine controlled the first three quarters leading up to the final two periods.
The Bobcats had a 14-13 lead after the first period and a 25-19 lead at halftime.
In the third, the Bobcats still led, 31-29, but the Comets outscored the Brandywine 14-12 in the fourth to tie the game at 43.
Coloma went on to score 13 additional points in overtime, while the Bobcats could only score nine.
Chris Casey had a career-high 18 points for the Bobcats and Matt Beaver added 11.
Billy McDonald and D.J. Elrod each added eight.
For the Comets, Tyler LaVanway and Jeff Gargand each had 15 points and Gabe Guiday added 10.
Brandywine will return to the court on Tuesday when it travels to South Bend Trinity.
On Friday, the Bobcats will host Edwardsburg in hopes of getting revenge on the Eddies.
Both games are set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
