Brandywine grapplers take first at Hemlock Team Duals

NILES - Brandywine's varsity wrestling team traveled to the Hemlock Huskies Team Duals Saturday and claimed the tournament title, taking first place finishes in nine weight classes.
Second place went to Brown City, which went 4-1 on the day. Breckenridge claimed third place, going 3-2. Fourth place went to Clare, which posted a 2-3 record. Host Hemlock took fifth place with a 1-4 record and sixth place went to Hale, which ended the day 0-5.
The Bobcats defeated Hemlock 84-0; Hale 83-0; Breckenridge 57-18; CLare 63-21 and Brown City 60-24.
Individually for the Bobcats, Bryon Fisher (103), Bryton Hutchings (112), Pat Van Laere (119), Joel Perry (160), Kyle Jones (171), Adam Simons (189), Jeremy Hechtl (215) and Aaron Edquist (275) all took first place in their weight classes.
Warren Watson (125) and Chase Molica (135) both took second place in their weight classes.
Also posting wins for the day were Tyler Weedon (130), Kyle Perry and Ben Gerber (140), Aaron Clifford (145), Robert Basker and Matt Duckett (152) and Danny Eagleburger (215).
Brandywine, now 25-6 overall, will be on the road Wednesday to face Bronson and Mendon for a pair non-conference matches set to begin at 6 p.m.
