Vikes defeated by Lancers

NILES - Niles' varsity volleyball team suffered a Big 16 West Division loss to visiting Lakeshore Wednesday evening, bringing its record to 10-10-4 overall on the season.
The Vikes were only able to win one win, 25-22, in the second game of four played.
The Lnacers went on to win the first game, 25-20, the third game, 25-8 and the fourth game, 25-18.
Brittney Passig and Kaylynn Stephenson both had four kills on the night for Niles. Karly Kennedy, Mehgen Flynn and Katie Bourbainnas all added three kills each and Kylee Mudd had one.
Abby Mitchell and Sam Brawley each had five digs, Kennedy and Stephenson had three each and Maddy Peterek and Kayla Copper both added two.
Passig and Stephenson each had two aces and Peterek had 13 assists for the Lady Vikes.
Niles is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Berrien Springs for the Shamrock Invitational. Matches are set to begin at 8 a.m.
Niles' junior varsity team will also be attending the invite, while the freshmen will travel to New Buffalo for the Lady Bison Invitational.
