Buchanan spikers take win at Brandywine

NILES - Although Buchanan's head coach Lisa Holok was not pleased with the way her team played Wednesday evening at Brandywine, the Bucks still walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bobcats, improving their record to 3-3 in the Lakeland Conference, 5-3 overall.
Brandywine head coach Gary Whitney, on the other hand, thought Buchanan played very well.
The Bobcats got things rolling in the first game, taking a 26-24 win, but the Bucks were victorious in the last three, 25-21, 25-22, and 26-16.
Courtney Miller had 10 kills, two blocks and 14 digs for the Bucks.
Emily Ross had 31 assists, three kills, two blocks, 13 digs and five aces. Hayley Burks had seven kills and 34 digs. Jill Woodrick had 29 digs and four kills. Katrina Weldy had nine kills and six blocks. Mattie Arndt had six kills and four blocks and Lindsey Borr had 36 digs.
Kendra Zache led the Bobcats with 15 kills and five digs. Katie Smallwood and Nikki Martyniuk both had three blocks, Kelli Zache had two aces and two blocks and Martyniuk had two aces.
Missy Cooper had five assists for the Bobcats, while Emily Low had three.
