February will bring multiple opportunities for book lovers to stock up on reading material at the library.
"Are you ready for some football?" If your answer to this question is an enthusiastic, "No, thanks," then we have just the thing for you. On Super Bowl Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m., the Friends of Niles District Library will host a book sale in the library's basement.
Thousands of books will be for sale at just a dime a piece. The library will not be open for regular business, but customers may enter the library on the south side, just west of the main entrance.
On Valentines Day the Friends will host the Third Annual Romance Give-a-Way. Patrons will draw "hearts" to determine how many free paperback romance novels they can take home- for free. Friends members will be able to double their prize.
The Adult Winter Reading Program runs hroughout February and March. For every 10 books read, readers earn one chance to win the grand prize of 100 pounds of books to be given away during National Library Week, April 3-8. Additional prizes will also be awarded. Ask for details at the Information Desk.
