Niles spikers have tough time in St. Joe

NILES - The Niles varsity volleyball team had some very tough competition Saturday at the St. Joseph Invitational.
The Vikings took its only game win against River Valley, defeating the Mustangs 25-15, 25-10.
Niles fell to St. Joe, 25-14, 25-14. Against Parchment, the Vikes fell in the first game 25-17, took the second game win 25-15, but suffered a 15-13 loss in the third game.
Paw Paw took the 25-20, 20-25, 15-3 win over Niles, Watervliet won in three games, 25-10, 19-25, 15-10 and Otsego also took the win in three games against the Vikings, 20-25, 25-14, 15-13.
Individually for Niles, Karly Kennedy had 22 kills, 15 aces and 16 digs. Katie Bourbainnas had 25 kills, four blocks, one ace and eight digs. Mehgan Flynn had 24 kills, three blocks, three aces and four digs. Kaylynn Stephenson had 16 kills, one block, four aces and 20 digs.
Maddy Peterek had 72 assists, one block, five aces and 16 digs and Brittney Passig had nine kills, three blocks and two aces.
Torri Mitchell and Abby Mitchell each added 10 digs each, while Kylee Mudd had 16. Sam Brawley had 38 digs on the day.
