Bucks bring home the trophy

EDWARDSBURG - It came down to Buchanan and Constantine in the final match of the Edwardsburg Invitational on Saturday.
Without hesitation, the Bucks took two wins, 25-19 and 25-21, to claim the tournament win
Buchanan, which finished fourth in pool play with a 4-6 record, defeated Schoolcraft in the semifinals, 25-23 and 25-12.
Constantine took the 25-16, 25-21 win over host Edwardsburg in semifinal action.
Earlier in the day, the Bucks suffered two losses to Constantine, 25-21 and 25-15.
They also dropped a 25-22, 25-22 decision to Schoolcraft.
Buchanan split with Berrien Springs, 24-25, 25-20, and split with Michigan Lutheran, 25-19, 23-25.
The Bucks defeated the Eddies, 25-17, 25-23.
During pool play, Schoolcraft and Constantine both went 7-3 on the day, Edwardsburg posted a 6-4 record, Berrien Springs went 4-6 and Michigan Lutheran went 2-8.
Statistically for the Bucks, Emily Ross had 69 assists, 24 kills and 22 digs on the day.
Hayley Burks had 23 kills, nine aces and 50 digs; Jill Woodrick had 28 kills and 66 digs; Courtney Miller had 10 kills, two aces and 17 digs; Katrina Weldy had 14 kills and 12 blocks; Mattie Arndt had 10 kills, four aces and five blocks; and Lindsey Borr had 62 digs.
Buchanan is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Coloma for a Lakeland Conference game.
