Brandywine too much for Ranger spikers

NILES - After a rough start at the beginning of the season, Brandywine's varsity volleyball team is starting to come around.
The Bobcats grabbed three wins in a row Jan. 11 against Cassopolis for a Lakeland Conference win.
Brandywine, now 2-9-2 overall, won the first game 25-17, the second game 25-19 and the final game 25-22.
In the final game, the Rangers made the Bobcats work for most of their points.
The score seesawed back and fourth throughout the match, and at one point Cass went ahead by four, 21-17.
But Brandywine rallied and took advantage of some defensive and offensive errors caused by the Rangers.
The Lady Rangers were led by Kyra Luckey and Symone Pompey's 13 digs.
Cassopolis also got six digs each from Nikitas Nelson and Branna Wyant. Nicole Green finished with five digs and Kara Simmons four digs.
Molly Vite had five kills for the Lady Rangers. Sara McIntyre had 17 assists.
Dee Dee Hawkins finished with a pair of blocks.
The Lady Rangers hosted Coloma in a Lakeland Conference match on Wednesday night.
Gobles tournament
GOBLES - The Cassopolis varsity volleyball team went 1-2 at Gobles on Saturday.
The Lady Rangers defeated Martin, 25-20 and 25-16 before falling to Lawton, 21-25 and 17-15.
Cassopolis also lost to Galesburg-Augusta, 17-25 and 21-25.
Molly Vite played well all around according to Boulanger.
Sara McIntyre had 13 assists, while Dee Dee Hawkins had six kills. Kara Simmons had six blocks and four aces.
Nikitas Nelson and Kyra Luckey both had seven digs. Symone Pompey added six digs.
