Bucks take LAC win over Cass

CASSOPOLIS - Despite missing its top hitter, the visiting Buchanan Bucks defeated Cassopolis Wednesday night, 25-4, 25-16 and 26-24.
Buchanan was without senior Hayley Burks, while senior Jill Woodrick was playing with the flu.
Burks is expected back for the Niles match in January according to coach Lisa Holok.
Buchanan (2-1, 1-1 Lakeland Conference) dominated the net play and as a result was able to withstand a strong serving effort by the Lady Rangers.
Buchanan was led statistically by Katrina Weldy with 12 blocks and eight kills.
Buchanan also got 12 digs from Mary Martin and 23 assists from Emily Ross.
The loss dropped Cassopolis to 0-2 in the Lakeland Conference.

The host Lady Eddies dropped a 25-22, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-20 decision to visiting Berrien Springs Wednesday night.
Jennie Haines had four kills for Edwardsburg, while Lindsay Mollenberndt had three blocks. Chrissy Breisch had seven aces, while Nikki Focht had six digs.
