Two arrests made in Cass park shooting

CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports that investigators from his office arrested two individuals on felony charges related to the shooting/assault that occurred at Lawless Park on Dec. 12.
The individuals were taken into custody without incident on Tuesday and have been lodged at the Sheriff's Office in Cassopolis pending arraignment in Fourth District Court today. Subjects' names were withheld pending arraignment.
After investigating, deputies discovered there had been an altercation between two groups of people at the park. During this altercation three individuals were injured to the point of having to be hospitalized.
These included injuries caused by a firearm as well as blunt force trauma from various items used during the incident.
Ricky Armstrong, 40, of Edwardsburg, had been reported in critical condition at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. There was no further information available regarding Armstrong's health status, Capt. Lyndon Parrish said Tuesday evening.
The others, John Slone, 40, of Ashley, Ind., and Andrew Skibowski, 23, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., were treated at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac and released.
