Firefighters, paramedics earn annual City of Niles awards

NILES - Several City of Niles Firefighters were honored Dec. 3 at the departments annual awards ceremony for their performance in 2005.
Firefighter Vince Dixon was awarded the On-call Firefighter of the Year Award for the second straight year for the highest all around participation, with over 294 total hours. Firefighter Cliff Goodrich led On-call firefighters in emergency response hours with 89.
Driver Paramedic Dan Tackett led the department with over 600 hours of training for the year. Finally, Firefighter Chad Cherrone led the department in unpaid public education hours with 75 hours donated preventing fires.
Additionally, Driver Paramedic Bill McAllister and Driver Paramedic Dan Tackett were also honored for their extensive efforts in the development and implementation of the departments Emergency Medical Response Program.
