NILES - Erika Pickles has been promoted to sports editor at the Niles Daily Star, said Jan Griffey, Leader Publications' president and publisher.
Pickles has served as sports writer for the newspaper for more than a year.
Pickles is a 2000 graduate of Niles High School and attended Southwestern Michigan College, where she studied elementary education. In high school, Pickles was involved in varsity basketball, softball and volleyball.
She is the daughter of Larry and Sara Jane Pickles and Conrad and Brenda Gaedtke.
