NILES - Buchanan's varsity wrestling team opened its season Wednesday evening in Eau Claire on a very good note.
The Bucks pinned their way to a 79-0 victory over Lawton.
Buchanan had five pins and five forfeits in the match.
It also defeated Mendon 66-18 and had seven pins and three voids in the match.
D.J. Hurd, Shane Collins, Justin Brown, Jim Connors and Mike Connors all won by forfeit for the Bucks.
David Knisely went 1-1 in the 112 weight class. Against Lawton's Sydney Morris, Knisely won by decision, 8-6.
Todd Taylor went 1-1 on the night at 119, defeating Anthony Garcia of Lawton with a pin 1:32 in the first period.
At 125, Nick Wheetley pinned both of his defenders in the first period and in the 130 weight class, Travis Reith also won by pins.
Drew Medlin won by pin against Mendon's Max Miller in the first period and won by decision against Lawton's Steve Schultz, 18-7.
At 140, tyler Mitchell went 1-1, defeating Lawton's Jason Bastian by pin at the 20 second mark of the first period.
David Medlin picked up two pins for a victory in the 145 weight class and Austin Ferris also grabbed two wins by pin at 152.
A.J. Long was victorious with two first period pins at 160, while Justin Brown and Mike Connors both took pins for a Buchanan victory.
The Bucks, now 2-0, will head to the Niles Invitational on Saturday. Match times are set to begin at 10 a.m.
