NILES - Most of you remember the success the Buchanan boy's basketball team had last year. A district and regional title and an appearance at the Class C quarterfinals for the second straight year. The Bucks had a near perfect 23-3 record before falling to Albion on March 15.
But with success and the loss of nine seniors, D'Vaughn Frazier, Brian Shannon, Jimmy Washington, Gordon Bryant, Tony Robinson, Kyle Tracey, PJ Pollack, Jared Rusher and Nate Brewer, some have to wonder what kind of a year this will be for Buchanan basketball.
Hard work is a very good thing, especially when you return only four players, seniors Jeff Kyles, Taylor Johnson, Jason Kuntz and sophomore Marquis Hall.
But don't frown on the Bucks too fast. Though they will be a young and inexperienced team, McBeth said that their hard work, desire to improve from day to day and a never give up attitude will be very helpful for Buchanan.
The Bucks open their season on Tuesday, Dec. 6 when they host White Pigeon. Game time is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Freshman and JV begin at 4:15 and 5:30 p.m. respectively.
