Riverfront Cafe brings pickers onstage

NILES - Enjoy the sounds of the Goldmine Pickers as they take the stage at the Riverfront Cafe this Sunday, as part of the Niles Bluegrass and Americana Roots music concert series.
The band will take the stage from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27. The Riverfront Cafe is located at 219 N. Front St., in downtown Niles.
The Goldmine Pickers are a passionate, energetic, four-piece band which draws on the inspiration of bluegrass, jazz, folk and Irish traditions, to create a unique new space in Americana music.
With engaging acoustic performances Goldmine Pickers has captivated all-age audiences in both intimate and expansive concert audiences, with their inspiring interplay between innovative guitar and mandolin picking, soulful upright bass, a fiery fiddler and soaring three part harmony.
The band's original, upbeat music appeals across genres. Lead vocals are shared smoothly between Lukas Simpson, who also plays guitar, mandolin, bouzouki and harmonica; Jay Lapp is on mandolin and guitar; Derek Kratzer on bass and Sean Hoffman on fiddle.
While focusing on original music, the band collaboratively arranges bluegrass, old-time, folk and Irish fiddle tunes.
Goldmine Pickers finds inspiration from diverse artists and eras, continuing the progression of folk music in America.
The featured band at the Riverfront Cafe on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. will be the Wood N' Nickle.
