NILES - It is important for a school district to be prepared should a crisis situation arise.
The Brandywine Community Schools announced at Monday nights Board of Education meeting that parents and community members are invited to attend a trauma and crisis response meeting at Brandywine Middle/High School on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in the media center.
The district would also like to announce two of its buildings are open to community members for fitness walking.
Brandywine Middle/High School is open 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and Merritt Elementary School is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Walkers can use the buildings at these times Monday through Friday.
In other business, the board discussed the possibility of seeking bids for a person to fill the district's food services management position.
The district is currently running its food service program with the help of a part time food service manager.
The board also approved the bid from Kachur Tree Service for $12,500 for the districts snow removal for the 2005-06 winter season. Kachurs has done the district's snow removal for several years.
