We would like to invite everyone to take in the upcoming high school district basketball tournament which begins at sites throughout southwestern lower Michigan.
The regular season wrapped up for most schools Thursday night.
That means regardless of what happened over the past three months-plus months, the slates have been wiped clean and on Monday everyone has a chance to reach their dreams of winning a state championship.
The first stop is the district tournament. District champions then advance to the regional level before those winners move on to the quarterfinals.
Those lucky enough to make it through the quarterfinals will advance to East Lansing to play in the state semifinals and finals on the campus of Michigan State University at the Breslin Center.
Three local schools will play at a pair of sites in the Class B District Tournament.
Lakeshore High School will host one of those Class B tournaments, where Dowagiac and Niles will be playing.
The Lady Vikings and the Chieftains both received first round byes and will play on Wednesday night.

The Chieftains will face the winner of the Lakeshore-South Haven contest on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.
The finals are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

So get out there and support your favorite team.
