NILES - The holiday season is quickly approaching and downtown Niles merchants want to help Niles shoppers with their gift-giving needs.
That's the reasoning behind the first annual Trolley Hop and Holiday Open House.
On Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., shoppers can park their vehicles in any of the city's municipal parking lots and hop a ride on the Dial-A-Ride trolley.
The trolley will be servicing all downtown Niles street corners, delivering shoppers conveniently to all the downtown Niles hot spots - all free of charge.
The trolley hop was the idea of Meg Truesdell, owner of Red Shoe Jewelry on Front Street.
Many of the downtown merchants will be staying open later on Friday to allow residents to stop in an see what they have to offer.
