Dowagiac City Council Monday night approved the sale of 1.3 acres in the industrial park to Horvath Communications of South Bend, Ind., for $1,250 per acre, or a total of $1,625.
Horvath Communications bought this lot with the intent of developing a 199-foot cellular communications tower for lease to multiple providers, according to City Manager William H. Nelson Jr. Sale of the 235-foot by 235-foot lot at the south end of the east side of Woodhouse Drive at the cul-de-sac abutting CMI, is contingent on Horvath obtaining all necessary zoning approvals, environmental clearances and building permits, which are expected to be complete by Jan. 31, 2006.
