Brandywine playoff chances fall short Friday night

COLOMA - Tim Bartee, Lucas Fonseca and Jamie Page all tallied twice as the host Coloma Comets ended the playoff dreams of the Brandywine Bobcats Friday night, 44-0.
The Bobcats were hoping to end their regular season on a positive note and capture their fifth victory of the season to keep alive their playoff chances.
However, Coloma scored 10 points in the opening quarter and led 24-0 at halftime.
Lucas Fonseca scored on a five-yard pass from Alex Garrod to open the scoring.
The Comets (4-5 overall and 3-4 in the Lakeland Conference) made it 10-0 when Mike McCoy kicked a 30-yard field goal.
Bartee extended the lead to 17-0 with a two-yard run and a McCoy extra point.
The Comets completed the first half scoring on Fonseca's second touchdown, a 17-yard run.
The Bobcats (4-5, 3-4) held the Comets scoreless in the third quarter, however, Coloma scored three times in the fourth quarter to turn the game into a rout.
Bartee scored his second touchdown on a 7-yard run before Page tallied on an eight-yard run.
Page completed the scoring on an 85-yard pass interception.
The Comets rushed for 314 yards and threw for another 84 yards.
Brandywine finished with 187 yards and threw for 18 yards.
The Bobcats turned the ball over four times in the game, three of which were fumbles.
