Habitat accepting applications

NILES - The Niles-Buchanan Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for the 2006 build. Twenty-one homes have been built by the Niles-Buchanan Habitat for Humanity.
Families in the Niles, Brandywine and Buchanan school districts can receive an application for the 2006 build by attending an orientation meeting at St. John's United Church of Christ, at 601 Sycamore St., in Niles, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
Those interested in applying for a Habitat home must presently be living in substandard housing and can therefore show a need for a new home. They must be able to document that they have the ability to pay a no-interest monthly mortgage payment. Lastly, they must be willing to complete at least 250 hours of sweat equity per adult in the household in the construction of their new home.
Completed applications with the required documentation must be sent to Niles-Buchanan HFH, P.O. Box 305, Niles, by Tuesday, Nov. 15.
