NILES - Niles residents who have frequented the Grant and Oak street Dairy Queens over the last 23 years may notice a familiar face missing next season.
Niles resident Georgia Hornberger, who has worked for owners Ken and Sandra Knauf almost since the time in which they purchased the stores, is retiring at the close of this season.
Hornberger finally chose to retire as she is having feet and leg problems and her husband has been retired for about four years.
Hornberger said one of the things she will miss most about working at Dairy Queen is the customers.
Another thing Hornberger will miss is working with all the wonderful people at Dairy Queen, she said.
Hornberger added, for a small town Niles is a great place.
Hornberger began working for the Knaufs when they were neighbors and she offered to help them out in anyway she could.
Knauf added it's going to be very difficult to have Hornberger retire.
Hornberger's co-worker Janice Powell said, &#8221Georgia is like a mother to all of us here at Dairy Queen. She makes this a fun and comfortable place to work and I'm really going to miss her.“;
