Eddies capture district title

The Edwardsburg Equestrian Team captured the MIHA District 3 championship at the Berrien County Fairgrounds in Berrien Springs.
Edwardsburg recently competed in the Region C competition held in Mason and finished third.
Caledonia won the Class A regional title with a score of 488. Sturgis was second with a score of 477 and Edwardsburg third with a score of 475.
Lakeshore won the Class B title with a score of 469.
Springport was second.
In Class C, Coloma was the regional champion with a score of 430.
Coldwater was second.
The top two teams advance to the state finals held Oct. 13-16 in Midland.
The Edwardsburg Equestrian Team consists of Heather Eaton, Kaitlyn Wagley, Jessica Wolfe, Laura Donath, Abby Campanaro, Ciara Brown, Kelsey Golden, Heather Harvey, Mike Rangel, T.J. Treat, Ryan Wagley and Christina Hans.
The team is coached by Diane Rangel and assisted by Jan Donath and Brian Donath.
Cassopolis finished third in Class C at the districts.
Coloma was the district champion with 324 points. Watervliet was second with 170 points, while Cassopolis finished with 95 points.
Buchanan finished fifth and Brandywine sixth. Niles placed eighth.
