Bobcats victorious on Senior Night

NILES - Brandywine's varsity soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 5-2 win over Lake Michigan Catholic Wednesday evening.
Though the Bobcats walked away from the contest victorious, head coach Jim McNamara said his team played ”flat.“;
Brandywine took an early lead in the first half at the third minute mark when junior Matt Beaver scored an unassisted goal to put the Bobcats up 1-0.
The rest of the first half remained scoreless as both teams struggled to get a good shot ongoal.
In the second half, the Bobcats again opened up the scoring with Matt Duckett scoring a goal on an assist from Matt Beaver at the 50th minute to put Brandywine up 2-0.
The Lakers scored their first goal in the 61st minute when Scott Kuhnlein netted an unassisted goal to put LMC on the board, 2-1.
Six minutes later, during the 67th minute, freshman Greg Beaver added another goal to the Bobcats' score when he punched the ball in on an assist from Travis Duncan.
Michael Kurina scored the Lakers' next unassisted goal within seconds of Greg Beaver's, bringing the score to 3-2. But that was the last time LMC would put the ball in the net.
Matt Beaver scored Brandywine's last two goals on assists from Cory Barber and Kyle Perry in the 69th and 71st minutes to post the Bobcats' final score of 5-2.
Brandywine took 11 shots on goal, while the Lakers took seven.
The Bobcats had five saves at the net, three from Will Coar and two from Jake Harris.
Brandywine will travel to River Valley Saturday morning for the Lakeland Conference Tournament.
