Bucks fall to Rangers

NILES - Buchanan's varsity basketball team dropped a 54-34 decision Tuesday evening to host Cassopolis in Lakeland Conference action.
The Bucks only trailed the Rangers by three points, 12-9, after the first period, but Cass extended the lead in the last three quarters.
In the second, the Rangers added 13 points to the scoreboard while Buchanan added 10.
The Rangers scored 21 points alone in the third, to widen the gap, 46-29.
In the fourth and final period, the Bucks could only add five points to their score, while the Rangers added eight to stay ahead and claim the victory.
Emily Ross was the leading scorer for Buchanan with 12 points and Hillary Faulkner added five.
Dee Dee Hawkins had 22 points for Cass and Michelle James added 13.
JV game
Buchanan's JV team suffered a 37-28 loss to the Rangers. Felicia Cox lead the Bucks in scoring with 12 points and Kia Luckey lead the Rangers with 11.
The Bucks will return to the court on Wednesday, Oct. 19 when they host Michigan Lutheran. The JV game will begin at 5:30 p.m., with varsity following.
