Rangers, Eddies golfers qualify for regionals

Six teams qualified for the Division 3 regional tournament this week.
The top six teams in the inaugural district tournament move on to the regional meet.
Kalamazoo Hackett was the district champion with a team total of 320.
Kalamazoo Christian was second with a 324, while Schoolcraft finished third with a 336. Coloma was sixth with a 349. Parchment and Edwardsburg rounded out the top six teams as they shot 350 and 364 respectively.
Buchanan was seventh with a 372, while host Dowagiac was eighth with a 378.
Rounding out the order of finish were Berrien Springs (380), Brandywine (384), Constantine (387), Paw Paw (414) and Watervliet (445).
Schoolcraft's Lee Keselowski was the medalist with a six-under par 66.
Kasey Weber of Coloma finished second with a 76.
The top six teams, plus the top six players who were not on a qualifying team advanced to the regional tournament.
Moving on as individuals were Constantine's Tanner Smoker (83), Buchanan's Adam Houin (84), Brandywine's Justin Ely (88), Buchanan's Matt Adams (89), Dowagiac's Nick Krizinski (89) and Paw Paw's Alex Hessler (89).
Edwardsburg's squad was led by Ryan Stoneburner and Khris Merrill, both of whom shot 83.
James Hentz shot 94, while Tanner Leininger shot 104. Mike Fantetti was disqualified.
The Division 3 regional will be held at Thornapple Creek on Friday.
Division 4
BRIDGMAN - The Cassopolis golf team finished third on Friday at the Division 4 Golf District Tournament held at Pebblewood Country Club in Bridgman.
White Pigeon earned the inaugural Division 4 championship with a team score of 330.
Marcellus finished second with a 333, while the Rangers were third with a 334. Lawton and River Valley rounded out the top five with scores of 338 and 353 respectively.
Cassopolis' Will Loux earned medalist honors with his score of 71.
Dan Stanage shot 79 for the Rangers, who also got a 92 from Mike Vite, a 92 from Matt Gadscz and a 102 from Austin Francis.
The Rangers will play in the Division 4 regional today at Riverside Country Club in Battle Creek.
