Workforce officers elected for 2005

BENTON HARBOR -The Workforce Development Board of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties held their annual meeting on Oct. 5, 2005, to elect the officers for the coming year.
Following recommendation from the Nominating Committee, the following officers were elected:
Chairman - Arnie Redsicker, Director of Manufacturing, Lovejoy Inc., South Haven.
This will be Mr. Redsicker's fifth term as Chair. He is also a member of the Program Evaluation and Development Committee, Marketing Committee and the Human Resources Committee and has served on the Board since 1995.
Vice Chairman - Jim Kodis, President, Regal Finishing Co., Inc., Coloma.
This is Mr. Kodis' first term as Vice Chair. He is also a member of the Program Evaluation and Development Committee and Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee and became a member of the Board last year .
Treasurer - Tim Calhoun, Vice President of Finance &Chief Financial Officer, Lakeland Regional Health Systems, St. Joseph.
This is Mr. Calhoun's third term as Treasurer. He is also a member of the Finance Committee and has served on the Board since 2002.
Secretary - Dr. Fred Mathews, Optometrist, Southwestern Michigan College Board of Trustee, Dowagiac.
This is Dr. Mathews' first term as Secretary. He has served on the Board since 2003.
The officers, together with Jeanette Leahey, Chair of the Chief Elected Officials Board, comprise the Executive Committee of the Workforce Development Board.
According to Todd Gustafson, executive director of Michigan Works, &#8221In the coming year, you can expect to see many changes at Michigan Works as we implement the strategic plan developed by our Board. Our newly elected officers have a strong passion and commitment to providing businesses in our three counties with a quality labor pool and contributing to the economic well being of our community.
