The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade basketball team played a combined game against Benton Harbor Fairplain Thursday afternoon, losing in overtime, 36-35.
Vicky Robinson led Dowagiac with nine points, while Kaisha Martin added eight points.
Dowagiac also got four points each from Shatesha White and Krista Green. Ashley Charles, Bobbie Payne, Heather Leonard, Rhonda Owen and Breneesha Jones all scored two points.
Eighth grade basketball
The eighth grade basketball team played a combined game against Benton Harbor Fairplain and came away with a 31-23 victory Thursday afternoon.
Britnee Allerton scored six points to lead Dowagiac, while Yasmine Chambliss and Tori Lowe both scored five points.
Leana Allen and Taylor Gross both played well according to coach Bruce Shaffer.
Dowagiac is back in action on Monday.
Seventh grade football
The seventh grade football team dropped a 28-18 decision to Lakeshore Tuesday.
Scoring for the Chieftains were Tyler Mihm on a 75-yard kickoff return, Steve Baylock on a 20-yard run and Austin Adams on the quarterback keeper.
Dowagiac will play at home against St. Joseph next Wednesday.
