Lady Bobcats end season with a bang

NILES - Brandywine's varsity tennis team ended its regular season play on Tuesday with an 8-0 win against Lake Michigan Catholic.
The Lady 'Cats ended their season with a 13-0-1 record.
Brandywine head coach Joe Marazita said that while going undefeated is special, his team still has to keep their eye on the ball and accomplish that, which is why his team is scrimmaging Lakeshore today to prepare for the regionals, which start Thursday.
In singles action, No. 1 player Amy Konopinski, No. 2 player Amelia Harrison and No. 3 player Brittney Patterson all took 6-0 and 6-0 wins in their flights.
No. 4 singles player Aubrey Espick fell in her first set, 2-6, but bounced back to grab a 6-2 and 7-6 win against Jayme Herzog.
At No. 1 doubles, seniors Brittany Daniel and Ashley Valentine took a 6-0 and 6-1 win over Angela Armstrong and Nicole Bonek.
Erin Sinkoff and Jamie Bartuska took a 6-1 and 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles against Jennifer Bush and Caitlin Klug.
At. No. 3 doubles, Erin Fuson and Samantha Quartuccio grabbed a 6-1 and 6-0 win against Natalie Marzke and Alex Sassano.
And at No. 4 doubles, Morgan Bailey and Jo Ferenczi took a 6-1 and 6-0 win over Emily Boelcke and Allana Conner.
Regional play will start on Thursday at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind.
Match times are set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
Brandywine will be joined by Buchanan, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg, Cassopolis, Paw Paw, Coloma, Constantine, Eau Claire and Lake Michigan Catholic.
The top two finishers, plus anyone who scores 18 points or more, moves on to the state finals.
