2 suspects nabbed at second home invasion

Chief Tom Atkinson reports that on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at around 8 p.m., his officers investigated a home invasion/assault in the 100 block of Hamilton Street.
Officers apprehended two male suspects within moments of the incident.
Further investigation resulted in the suspects being charged with an earlier home invasion that occurred in the 300 block of Orchard Street on Oct. 4 at around 3:30 a.m.
The Dowagiac Police Department was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff's Office during the canvass for the suspects.
Members of the Avengers motorcycle club were in the area during the second home invasion and cornered one of the fleeing suspects after hearing the victim calling for help.
They then directed police to the area.
The female victim of the second home invasion received apparent minor injuries as a result of the incident.
One of the male suspects was arrested and charged with two counts of home invasion and one count of attempted murder.
The second male suspect was arrested and charged with being an accessory to Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Home Invasion. Both men are currently incarcerated at the Cass County jail awaiting arraignment before Judge Paul Deats.
