NILES - The Niles varsity golf team hosted Buchanan Monday afternoon in a non-conference match, with the Vikes walking away with a 166-192 win at Orchard Hills Country Club.
Niles' Chris Haas was the overall winner with a score of 39.
Alex Welsh shot a 40 on the day for the Vikes, Jeff Jaurgonski a 43, Scott Majerek a 44, D.J. Wolnick a 45 and Nick Horn a 48.
For the Bucks, Matt Adams led his team with a 45 on the day.
Jeremy Bachman shot a 46, Adam Hourin a 49, Brian Lembke a 52, Jamie Whitfield a 60 and Matt Stover a 64.
Niles will compete with 12 other teams on Thursday in Gull Lake for a shot at claiming a regional championship. The top three teams will move on to state.
