Dowagiac's Josh Deuel scored a goal and had an assist in a 2-0 win over host Edwardsburg Monday evening.
James Laymon opened the scoring for the Chieftains in the 12th minute off the assist from Deuel.
Deuel them completed the scoring with his unassisted goal in the 38th minute.
Dowagiac outshot Edwardsburg 17-5.
Dowagiac will join the varsity tonight as it heads to Marshall for the first of two Big 16 Conference crossover matches.
The junior varsity will play at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6:45.
Dowagiac will host an East Division opponent on Thursday in the second and final crossover match. Games will be played at 4 and 5:45 p.m.
