NILES - No matter if your four or 84, there is something for you at the apple festival.
Yesterday's attractions were The Captain Murph and Poky Show, presented by the Niles City and Township Fire Departments, carnival rides, the apple products tent, great food and Da Yoopers, a music and sketch group.
Julie Capron, of Buchanan said it's a tradition for her family to come to the Apple Festival each year. They have fun and enjoy themselves.
Dorothy Hart of Niles, a first year volunteer, said her favorite parts of the festival are getting to enjoy an elephant ear and working with the friendly board of directors and seeing all the people.
Laura Burch another volunteer agreed with Hart about those things being great about the festival
Burch added that it's good to see so many people from the community come together at one time. She handed out honeycrisp and red delicious apples to festival goers.
Marguerite Collins who is also from Niles is attending the festival for the first time this year. She came because her granddaughter told her it's a good time. She said everything she has gone to or seen so far has been a lot of fun.
The food you can get from the different vendors is Leona Wonacott's favorite part of the festival. She said it's one of those things where you can't get anywhere but at a festival or fair.
Wonacott added the festival is great for the community of Niles because it brings families together and is fun.
