The Edwardsburg Eddies and Berrien Springs Shamrocks played to a 2-2 draw in Lakeland Conference play Monday evening.
Berrien got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the fourth minute by Augustus Samphah.
That would complete the first half scoring in the tough defensive battle.
Edwardsburg scored back-to-back goals in the 54th and 55th minutes of the second half to take a 2-1 lead.
Philip Turner tied the match at 1-1 off an assist by Ryan Wenrick.
The Eddies then took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Wenrick off an assist from Jeremy Watkins.
Berrien Springs tied the match at 2-2 in the 58th minute on a second goal by Samphah.
The Eddies return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Parchment for a non-conference match slated to begin at 6:45 p.m.
Eddies vs. Niles
From the start of the game last Thursday evening, it appeared Niles' varsity soccer team had started on the right foot, but by the end, the Vikings found themselves on the wrong foot as visiting Edwardsburg took a 4-3 win over the Vikes.
Michael Tanke opened up the scoring for Niles in the eighth minute when he scored on an assist by Julian Freas, but that was the only goal Niles had in the first half.
The Eddies went on to score three goals in the first half to give them a 3-1 lead.
Tanke scored another goal to open the second half of play in the third minute and he assisted C.J. Rumpf at the 28th minute to tie the game at three.
A free kick on Edwardsburg's end in the 30th minute allowed the Eddies to score the game winning goal.
