New managing editor named for Niles Daily Star

Clarissa "Chris" O'Nan began work Monday as managing editor of the Niles Daily Star.
O'Nan will be responsible for all aspects of planning and managing all editorial and sports content of the Niles Daily Star.
She will be the newspaper's primary contact with readers.
O'Nan is a seasoned editor and award-winning feature writer with more than 10 years newsroom experience. She comes to the Daily Star most recently from the Springfield, Ky., Sun, where she served as editor. O'Nan also held posts at the Owensboro, Ky., Messenger-Inquirer, The Daily Post-Athenian in Athens, Tenn., the Bristol Herald Courier in Bristol, Tenn., the Griffin Daily News in Griffin, Ga., and the Daily Tribune-News in Cartersville, Ga.
O'Nan served in the U.S. Army and, following that service and as a single mother, went back to college and earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
In addition to leading the Niles newsroom, O'Nan will be responsible for covering Niles and Niles Township government.
