HARTFORD - Sarah DeLaRosa, of Hartford, has opened Tan Hut, "the ultimate bronzing adventure," at 6 W. Main St., Hartford.
The salon specializes in offering tanning, swimsuits, jewelry and tanning packages. The salon is equipped with one stand-up tanning booth and two facial tanner 40-bulb tanning beds.
DeLaRosa has had a lifelong desire to own and operate her own business and identified it as a great opportunity when the building on Main Street became available.
DeLaRosa was raised in Hartford and graduated in 1997. She continued her education at Twin Cities Beauty College and says she will continue to further her studies to keep current on the latest in the salon industry.
DeLaRosa chose the Hartford location after researching the industry, area and interviewing previous salon owners. "Clients won't have to drive to other cities to tan, they'll have the convenience of staying in their hometown," she said.
DeLaRosa gives credit to the Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance for assistance in developing a thorough business plan.
