NILES - Humans aren't the only ones who have evacuated to the Michiana area after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast.
Whispering Pines Kennel on Portage Road, in Niles is boarding New Orleans native, Ragin Cajun, a 160-pound Bullmastiff.
Deb Brown, who is the head volleyball coach at the University of Notre Dame, recommended to the Henican family that they take Ragin Cajun to Whispering Pines as that's where she boards her dogs.
Paula and her husband, Chuck, have owned Whispering Pines Kennel for 10 years.
Ragin Cajun is enjoying his time at Whispering Pines. With the Henican family being so close they are able to come to the kennel and take him for walks and play with him when they like.
