Eddies capture LAC jamboree win Tuesday

BUCHANAN - The visiting Edwardsburg Eddies took over first place in the Lakeland Conference golf standings on Tuesday with a victory at Brookwood Golf course.
The Eddies captured the league jamboree hosted by Buchanan as they finished with a team total of 182.
Cassopolis finished second with a 185, while Berrien Springs was third with a 186.
River Valley, which had been leading the league standings, finished fourth with a 188.
Bridgman was fifth with a 189, Buchanan sixth with a 192, Coloma seventh with a 195 and Brandywine eighth with a 198.
The Eddies now hold a one-point lead over River Valley in the league standings.
Edwardsburg has 35 points, while River Valley is second with 34 and Cassopolis third with 30. Berrien Springs is fourth with 19 points. Buchanan is fifth with 18 points, while Coloma is sixth with 17 points. Bridgman is seventh and Brandywine eighth with 16 and 11 points respectively.
Cassopolis' Will Loux earned medalist honors with his round of 40.
Buchanan's Matt Adams and River Valley's Brad Miller finished a stroke back after carding a 41.
The Eddies were led by Khris Merrill who shot a 43. Edwardsburg also got a 45 from James Hentz, a 46 from Ryan Stoneburner, a 48 from Tanner Leininger and a 49 from Mike Fantetti. Matt Harness finished with a 53.
Besides Adams' score, the Bucks also got a 46 from Andrew Colip, a 51 from Brian Lembke, a 54 from Adam Houin, a 55 from Jeremy Bachman and a 72 from Matt Stover.
Justin Ely led Brandywine with a 46, while Chris Rose shot a 49. The Bobcats also got a 50 from Billy MacDonald, a 53 from Shane Bankston, a 57 from Jesse Daniels and a 69 from Tyler Hill.
Brandywine will host the next jamboree on Thursday at Brookwood Golf Course in Buchanan. Tee time is set for 4 p.m.
