Sophomores Katy Stuppy and Jamie Simpson have been selected at the Daily News Athletes of the Week for Sept. 5-Sept. 10.
Stuppy set a school record for scoring in a single game with 38 points against Lakeshore last Thursday night.
Stuppy was 9-of-21 from the field, including a trio of three-pointers and 17-of-22 from the free throw line.
The old record of 33 was shared by Laurie Havel and April Danzy. Havel set the record in 1978. Danzy tied the record in 1998.
Simpson scored on runs of two- and five-yards, caught a pass for 18-yards and returned a kickoff for 89-yards in a 40-25 win over Kalamazoo Central.
Simpson leads Dowagiac in rushing with 217 yards rushing.
