NILES - Buchanan's varsity basketball team grabbed its first win of the season Saturday against host New Buffalo, 50-33.
The Bucks took control of the game early and held onto the lead after ever quarter.
After the first, the Bucks had a 17-6 lead over the Bison. Entering halftime, Buchanan had a 29-14 advantage and after the third, the Bucks had a 43-17 lead before taking the 50-33 win.
Emily Ross lead the Bucks in scoring with 11 points, while Katie Backus and Hayley Cashier both added 10 points each.
Cashier also added nine rebounds and Backus had six.
Hillary Faulkner had six points, three steals and Danielle Bachleda had six points, three assists.
Buchanan will return to the court on Tuesday when it hosts Eau Claire. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Buchanan's JV team also grabbed a 29-16 win over New Buffalo Saturday.
Felicia Cox was the leading scorer with 15 points for the Bucks.
