Chieftain JV remain undefeated

The Dowagiac junior varsity football team remained undefeated with a 27-6 victory over host Kalamazoo Central Thursday night.
Dowagiac got off to a slow start offensively according to coach Matt Alward, but picked it up in the second half.
Kyle Prak scored three touchdowns, including a pair in the second half, and kicked three extra points for the Chieftains.
DeShaun Baylock scored a fourth quarter touchdown for the Chieftains to complete the scoring.
The line consisted of Tyler first, Drew Staley, Jonathon Goodman, Bill Davis, Mike Stanton, Corey Wright and Robbie Wescott."
Alward also gave praise to the second string offense which marched down the field and scored a touchdowns in the second half.
Dowagiac will host Marshall next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Chris Taylor-Alumni Field.
Freshmen football
Dowagiac (1-2) was blanked by Kalamazoo Central Thursday afternoon, 42-0.
Machiniak said that Brent O'Brien, Tim DeRyder, Aaron Caldwell and Dre Kiser all ran the ball hard.
Dowagiac got an interception from D.J. Tartt.
Dowagiac will host Marshall on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
